About Us
OccupyHiFi is an independent publication about headphones and personal audio.
We cover the things people actually put on their heads: wireless and wired headphones, open-back and closed-back designs, noise-cancelling models, gaming headsets, studio monitors, and the technology inside them — Bluetooth codecs, drivers, DACs, amplifiers, and everything that decides how music reaches your ears.
What we publish
- Reviews — of individual headphones, written to help you decide, not to sell you.
- Buying guides — organized by budget, use case, and type, updated as the market moves.
- Comparisons — head-to-head, same dimensions both ways, no straw men.
- Technology explainers — what LDAC, aptX, ANC, and impedance actually mean for you.
- News — only when it’s genuinely newsworthy and verified.
How we’re different
Most headphone coverage online is either a spec sheet with a buy button or a forum argument. We aim for the middle ground a specialist magazine used to occupy: knowledgeable, plain-spoken, and honest about what we know and what we don’t.
Two rules shape everything we publish:
- We never claim to have tested something we haven’t. Articles based on

If a number is on the page, it came from somewhere real, and we say where.

Independence
OccupyHiFi’s editorial coverage is not for sale. Manufacturers can send review samples and press information; they cannot buy coverage, placement, or conclusions. Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix them openly and note the correction. See our Corrections Policy — and if you spot an error, tell us through the Contact page. We’d rather be corrected than wrong.
